Update on filming progress

At the moment in my filming progress i have had personal difficulties as my characters used for my film have struggled to be available for filming days. I feel i have demanded too much from my actors as i have decided i need 10 people for filming. For this reason alone i have decided i need to change my opening sequence so i can get the opening done in time for my deadline and so i can have a more realistic chance of completing it in general. I have decided to make the opening involve less characters just simply so i can complete it. Plus i can still make it fit perfectly into my film.

music in my genre

The music used in the genre i aim to replicate is over the top on the dramatic and tense parts of the film. When the bad guys are in the film, the music becomes all edgy and loud which would signify White Goodman's personality and his arrogance and competitiveness is clear to spot by the audience. Whereas Peter La Fleur has a softer and calmer tone of music in the film which also portrays his personality but also signifies that the good guys are no hopers and arent really expected of alot, but however conventionally the no hopers always seem to triumph in the end of a comedy film.

Feedback from my presentation

In my presentation i was given some useful feedback that i have taken as some friendly advice, i have beared that in mind. They have questioned the seriousness of chess as im going to take it seriously in my film. They also introduced the thought of it being similar to boxing e.g. in the black corner... Also noted was the seriousness of the chess being taken as a comedy, which is my ideal plan for my film to be based like. There was also a suggestion about doing chess in the theatre aswell as a possible outcome after which may possibly work.

Plan for production

I will aim to commence filming on Sunday the 16th of January as it is the best date to start filming my film. It will be filmed at page park as it is a very suitable place to commence the opening of my film, it has the features to help make it a very handy place to film the fight. I will aim to film the whole opening on this day at page park as it will fit the whole opening 2 minutes on the day. This is because it is easy to film a short space of time in one day.

Textual analysis- Green Street

I have decided to analyse "green street" as it links back to my film genre of sports comedy and drama. I have based most of my film on green street as it is a very good storyline to try and emulate it. I have decided to alter the storyboard and make it about chess instead of football to create some humour within the film. This will help aid me for my dramatic side of the film as the storyline is very similar. The variety of fast and slow shots are conventional for a dramatic film. The intense music and dramatic irony are also conventional for these films. I will aim to try and create a fair blend of drama and comedy in my film.

Target Audience

I believe my target audience for my film Knight Square will be aimed at teenagers aged around 15-20 as it is a fair blend of humour and violence. I feel films that are linked with my genre of film are dodgeball which is portrayed as a humourous film, i have based this film for the humerous side of my film as i feel it is a very successful comedy and is suited to my film. However my choice of a violent and hooliganism film was Green Street as i feel it is perfectly based for my genre, it is easy because the film is about football hooliganism and it is easy to replicate as my film is about chess parody and hooliganism so therefore i just need to change the terminology and can replicate the violent side of the film. Overall i would rate the certificate as a 15 as its too old for its hooliganism and the comedy woould bring it down from an 18 to a 15.
